WELCOME TO CROSSLAKE LUTHERAN CHURCH!
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the website of Crosslake Lutheran Church in beautiful Crosslake,
Minnesota! We will be doing our best to keep this website updated, so that you
can know the basic information needed to worship with us when you come this way,
or just to stay in touch.
Our ministry and mission in Crosslake, Minnesota is similar to every other ELCA
Congregation in this country. We are called to celebrate and share the Gospel of
Jesus Christ so that all people may know Christ’s love for us, for the whole
human race, and for the whole creation. To that end, we constantly lift up
scripture passages like Ephesians 2:8-10 where we are reminded that “we are
saved by grace through faith, and this is not our own doing; it is the gift of
God, so that we do not boast about it.” – passages like John 3:16-17 which
reminds us that “God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son” and
“God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world
might be saved through him.” This is the theology we celebrate and share, and
you are most welcome anytime to celebrate with us.
One of the most asked questions of our ministry is, “Can anyone receive Holy
Communion, even people of other denominations?” And the answer to that question
is a resounding, “YES!” Holy Communion is the grace of God, and all people are
welcome to the Lord’s Table. God is the one who serves this “feast of
forgiveness” and we are merely dispensers of it – table waiters, if you will.
Our ministry and mission in Crosslake, Minnesota is unlike most other ELCA
congregations in this country. During the school year we have one worship
service on Sundays at 9:30 am. But during the summer months we have two – one
indoor at 8:30 am, and one outdoor at 10:00 am. Our population swells during the
summer months because of all our snowbirds coming back to roost in Crosslake,
and because of all the summer vacationers who enjoy this part of God’s creation
as much as we who live here.
Our Adult Choir is 20-25 folks in the school year, but grows to 45-50 in the
summer. Most choirs take the summer off – our choir takes January off. It is
just the way life is here at Crosslake Lutheran Church!
If you are in the area, come worship with us! We will be glad to see you and
welcome you to this place! God bless you, one and all.
Your partner in Christ,
Pastor Mark L. Anderson
